I am once again working on illustrations for A Take of Four Cakes. Paidea Classics will be publishing the audiobook version before Christmas, God willing, and the print edition will come out whenever I can finish the illustrations.

Correspondence
Having extracted myself from Facebook, the time had come to reorganize my methods of communication. The first task was consolidating all of my contact information in one place. I have emails and phone numbers (and a few mailing addresses) on my phone, and the rest of the mailing addresses on an ancient Word document in … Continue reading Correspondence
Coffee
"The time has come," The Walrus said, "To start the coffee maker. It's full of ships and sealing wax, And salt and pepper shakers. The water must jog up and down Inside the percolator. And when it turns a wondrous brown We'll pour it in … Continue reading Coffee
The Christian Act of Offering Congratulations
I read an article today which reminded me why I seldom read articles in magazines (print or online). It tends to inspire the impulse to put my head through a brick wall. Legitimized idiocy. Here is that perfect example, this time courtesy of Redbook. (I followed the link to the original article; I wouldn't normally … Continue reading The Christian Act of Offering Congratulations
Alligator
An alligator naps on the landing, biding his time. Everyone is fooled, not suspecting that this is no innocent "stuffed animal". He had a good job which he enjoyed, a wife, Dorothy, whom he adored, and one daughter, Emelia, who … Continue reading Walking on Water
Oh, and…
...I sent in a proposal to Ancient Faith Publishing about A Tale of Four Cakes and it was accepted. So I sent in the manuscript today. That is all. (c:
Writing Progress
(Yet again) I'm working on A Tale of Four Cakes, determined this time to get it in such a shape that I can think about submitting it without fears of complete and utter humiliation. Haha, the fear is still there, but I'm doing my best to ignore it. As was suggested by a friend I … Continue reading Writing Progress
Window
Grief. Your own, someone else's; sometimes they get mixed up. Each loss you have is a hole in your heart. That hole never closes, but the edges heal... eventually. Each hole is a window. Through it you can see the broken hearts of others, reaching through to help stop the bleeding until their edges heal … Continue reading Window
Walking on Water
To all outward appearances, Pete was a successful man. He had a good job which he enjoyed, a wife, Dorothy, whom he adored, and one daughter, Emelia, who followed him wherever he went. He liked to read and ride his mountain bike. He had many friends and everyone liked Pete. But Pete had a secret: … Continue reading Walking on Water
