Flopsy did very well in the choral conducting class offered this past fall by the OCA's Department of Liturgical Music. She conducted about half of Liturgy today. Oh, and this baby cardigan is nearly done (needs ends woven in, blocking, and buttons). I'm starting s matching hat and will probably make little socks too.

The Jesus Prayer
https://youtu.be/AiUp5ZBEBK4 Some folks have asked for the music to the hymn the choir sang last Sunday so I'm providing the PDF here. The original is available on Podoben but the choir liked the arrangement (a few minor changes) our girls came up with more. PDF: the-jesus-prayer-our-arr.pdf Images:

(The key is not to sing something incompatible with the number of choir members, distribution of members among parts, or group ability and experience. A simple arrangement … Continue reading Cherubic Hymns

Blessing a new church
This weekend the first cycle of services were celebrated at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church in Humble, TX. The temple and trapeza were built by our parishioner, Liviu Costin, in an amazing labor of love. The iconography is being done by our multi-talented choir director, John Lickwar. This is now a parish of the OCA … Continue reading Blessing a new church
