I am typing this on my first ever laptop. For the first time I don't have to wait my turn to sit in a noisy room with the screen height uncomfortable for my bifocaled self. Also, I don't have to type out an entire blog post on my little phone keyboard. I can type, and … Continue reading A new start!

Pulling in, moving forward
I haven’t blogged for a long time because it’s hard to know what to say. One must be very careful nowadays. The powers that be are out for blood and no one person is too small a target. I’ve been in the process of circling my wagons. I always had some hazy idea of what … Continue reading Pulling in, moving forward
Back in the Saddle #bloginstead
Well, it's been quite a while. When I look back over the photos for the past 10-12 months, I can see that it has been a very full year. Two in college, one in manicure school, three homeschooling, and one tagging along. Our parish is growing. We're probably moving to another house soon (our landlords … Continue reading Back in the Saddle #bloginstead
Collecting Thoughts
I have no shiny resolutions for 2019. I don't think it's that I'm jaded; I think I'm just in a day-to-day survival mode. After 10 or so days with not more than 2 consecutive hours of sleep, it happens. When small children are sick it consumes your life. I'm not so much pessimistic as I … Continue reading Collecting Thoughts
New Beginnings
Rather than apologizing for the long hiatus and trying to update, I'll just begin again. I spent the previous few days at the Ancient Faith Women's Retreat meeting at Antiochian Village in Pennsylvania. It snowed the afternoon, evening, and night we arrived which was simultaneously a big treat for me and a big headache for … Continue reading New Beginnings
Sunday Evening {and a footnote}
~ I think I may just keep blogging here with photos as the spirit moves me. I just got a bit burned out by posting actual posts with not much feedback (and I am very grateful to those who did comment much of the time!). My day-to-day blogging will be on Instagram.
[pause]
I've had this blog for 9 1/2 years now. Partly because our family is outgrowing the title and partly because I feel like I'm talking to a largely empty room, I'm taking a bit of a break. I really enjoy sharing photos and so I've established an Instagram account where you can find me if … Continue reading [pause]
Becoming Ourselves
This began as a comment I left on a dear friend's blog. In her post she had mentioned a conversation with a friend discussing that around the age of 40 we tend to examine our life choices and think about where we are compared to where we thought we'd be in life, and how we … Continue reading Becoming Ourselves
Stepping back from the fray
I have been increasingly convinced that it is in my best interest and the best interest of my family, for me to significantly decrease my presence online. Over a long period of time I gradually stopped looking at the news (online - we don't have television) and deleted all bookmarks to contentious sites. I'm mostly … Continue reading Stepping back from the fray
Illness…
Posting has been slight this week due to all seven children being sick. A sick toddler and preschooler don't leave much time or energy for anything but the absolute basics (and not always those). Some children are on the mend so I hope next week will be better.
