The dress Take 2 is done and I'm wearing it now, but haven't really taken photos in it yet. You can still see her baby face here: Moppet gave Indy a lecture the other morning. "Don't scratch people. That's bad. If you don't scratch them, then they'll like you. Don't bite. That's bad. If you're … Continue reading Bits and pieces

Vintage Vogue V9000: take 1.2
This is the dress I made (at first) a size 18, adjusting it down to a 16 before the previous photos were taken. After making Dress take 2, I went back and deconstructed the majority of this dress (I kept the facings and buttons/buttonholes), cutting it down to a size 10 (the wrong size according … Continue reading Vintage Vogue V9000: take 1.2
Pan-Orthodox Vespers
This year the pan-Orthodox Vespers was hosted by St. Anthony the Great Orthodox Church (AOCANA) in Spring, TX. I'm not sure how many priests from the Houston area were there (mostly only those vested are in the last photo) but the last time I saw that many in one place it was at the cathedral … Continue reading Pan-Orthodox Vespers
Sunday of Orthodoxy

After I finished my Master's dissertation, I went to my advisor's office to have some papers signed, and a … Continue reading Humility, not Love
Wednesday of Clean Week
Today involved starting dress #2, helping Duchess cut out the pieces for her vintage-style apron (she expressed an interest in learning to sew), making bread for church tonight, and taking everyone to this year's first Presanctified Liturgy. Thankfully the rain held off this evening, although I got drenched putting groceries in the trunk around midday.
Tuesday night Canon of St. Andrew
I was thankful to be able to hear and see most of the service tonight. We had some doors open to catch the breeze and so when I had to stand on the porch with Mittens I could still see in, hear, and sing bits from memory. (Pictures 4-6 were my view.) And it was … Continue reading Tuesday night Canon of St. Andrew

Don’t mix
Looking forward to seeing dear friends today! Moppet is over the moon. 😊 The order of the bookcases has rather disintegrated so I'm reordering them and dusting as I go. Just remember to keep the Pledge and the coffee separate.
