There's so much I could say about Aunt Susan. She was such a lady, a gracious and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. I think everyone who knew her is a better person for it. When I think of her, however, I almost think of her first as a peacemaker. That doesn't mean she was … Continue reading Blessed are the peacemakers

Memory eternal!
Aunt Susan departed this life a brief while ago with her family by her side. May her memory be eternal! With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Thy servant, Where there is neither sickness and sorrow, and no more sighing, but life everlasting.
Charlotte
Well, this was different... Sunny, breezy, and 33. Waiting for carry on bags. I think the last time I was on the tarmac was in 1991 getting on a little prop plane in Tallahassee.
Morning Watch
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in thy words. My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate upon thy promise. [Ps. 119:147-8] I woke a little after 3:00 and frequently thereafter when Aunt Susan coughed. A little after 4:00 she actually opened her eyes and … Continue reading Morning Watch
Cold wanderings

I am in the lovely lobby of the inpatient hospice where my aunt is a patient. I spent all day yesterday on planes, in a rented car, checking into … Continue reading God’s time

Christmas Eve
Here we are, on the last day before Christmas. * * * * We have prepared and do not lack much to be completely ready. I do have to get the lentil soup going in the crock pot for dinner tonight after Vigil. I also still have presents to wrap. The front went through faster … Continue reading Christmas Eve
