Saturday evening hurricane update

It’s like being trapped on the ark, but there’s only a pair of cats. And seven kids.

Our storm total (so far…) is 23.5 inches.

8/25 9 PM-ish (additional half inch added before next container started)

8/26 7:30 AM: 9.5 inches dumped

8/26 5:30 PM: 6.5 inches

Our house and immediate neighborhood are high and dry and we have utilities. The lights have flickered a total of 4-5 times but that’s all. The roads and neighborhoods around us are increasingly covered with water and we are very grateful to be where we are.

We are forecast to get an additional 15-30 inches of rain over the next few days. I can’t really wrap my brain around it.

Please continue to pray for the people south of us near Houston proper who are experiencing devastating and historic floods, and for those in demolished areas where Harvey made landfall. May the Lord have mercy and move this storm out quickly!
