Apalachicola

Friday we went to Apalach to visit with my aunt and some of her family. It was so good to see them! That was followed by a bit of a walk and shopping downtown.

How cool is this fishing net Christmas tree with the floats for ornaments?

This renovated store was originally one of several shops owned by Greek settlers to Apalachicola.

Many years ago I heard or read of a saying that an Orthodox priest blesses his family for seven generations. I have never been able to trace this and it most certainly isn’t dogma. However, a few years ago I was fascinated to find that I was in the seventh generation descending from a Greek Orthodox priest by the last name Venieris. Of course, Father being an Orthodox priest, we start the generational count anew.
