Great photos I love hummingbirds. I remember reading a National Geographic story about them. A scientist mentioned that they can be vicious and fight each other fiercely for food as they are prisioners to their insanely high metabolism. He said if they were bigger, it likely wouldn't be safe for us to be outside!

They are definitely fighters. They're always trying to drive each other away from the feeder! Good thing they're smaller than my pinky!
