Grey Ruffled Doll Sweater

I finished this adorable little sweater yesterday, but it was too dark to take pictures. Then we had to go to Vespers. Anyway, I just finished taking all the photos this afternoon out in the yard and listing it on Etsy. It’s so cute! I need to make some in other colors. Next time I think I’ll make some notes so I’ll eventually be able to write the pattern (it came out of my head).

  1. Wow!!! I am in awe of your talent (and perhaps breaking that pesky 10th commandment as well). The attentiveness to detail is beyond my patience. Knitting, sewing, making things by hand are such lost arts today. I admire all who keep these crafts alive. It's so lovely to see from other posts that you're passing these skills to your kids.

  2. I LOVE making things like this! Now, if I could just figure out a pattern to make one for a little girl rather than a doll (I think it would be wasted on a baby, personally.) And yes, I told the girls that they all had to know how to do SOMETHING. I didn't care if it were sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, whatever. But they had to know how to do something with their hands. As it is, The oldest knits, the next one embroiders (and draws and writes) and the third crochets and sews (and makes miniatures).

  3. Far too adorable, especially in the sunny autumnal photos you took! The scenes look like they came from a storybook. (The icing on the cake, I think, is the little button strap thing (just realized I don't know if those have a name) in the back. 😀

  4. You know, I don't know the name either! I searched around online yesterday trying to find out (for the sake of the etsy description) but I had to settle for calling it a “half belt” for lack of the proper word.
