I couldn’t justify spending so much on hand carders when I’m not setting up a wool business or anything, so I got two dog slicker bushes at the store today. They work quite well!

Yep, this is about as frugal as it gets! Free wool, washed myself, carding it with dog brushes ($9 total). Already have the spinning wheel so I could wind up with a good bit of free wool yarn.

I have about 10 rolags (cylinders of carded wool) and a lot of wool left to go. It's hard to get it done because I can't do much of anything without a thousand interruptions (mostly having to put everything down to go get Miss Moppet out of something she's not supposed to be in).
