Yarn Along: September 11th

I’ve spent much time (MUCH time) working on this sweater during the past several days. I finished the second sleeve this afternoon. The button bands and shawl collar are left, as well as the elbow patches and pockets. It’s very handy to have a right-sized boy here to try it on. 🙂

I picked up Tower Stories: An Oral History of 9/11 at the library several days ago. Appropriate reading for this week. It’s good. I mean, it’s describing a tragedy, but the format of transcribed oral interviews arranged by “in the towers”, “outside the towers”, “ground zero”, “aftermath”, etc., is very effective. It makes fascinating reading, and offers a lot of perspectives that one simply misses in the shock of the overall day and days following the attacks. I saved all the newspapers for the first two weeks after 9/11 (we were living in northeastern PA at the time) and one day I’ll get them back out. Those too had many individual stories.

May the memory of those killed on September 11, 2001 be eternal!
