Bread for the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger,
and he who believes in me shall never thirst.”
                                                                            [John 6:35]

He who has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.
                                                                                         [Proverbs 22:9]

Thou dost cause the grass to grow for the cattle,
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth,
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine,
and bread to strengthen man’s heart.
                                                                                    [Psalm 104:14-15]

And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but that man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
                                                                                               [Deut 8:3]

Give us this day our daily bread
                                                                    [Mat 6:11]

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
                                                          [Luke 22:19]
(The top loaves of bread are for Presanctified. The bottom loaf is for the meal we will share afterward.)
