Yarn Along: In Bed

Yarn Along is a little late this week… It was a rough week.

I overdid it yesterday (although I feel like I don’t have much to show for it). After five loads of laundry I started having some worrying symptoms. Don’t start lecturing…Father already put the kibosh on any more laundry for me (I am permitted to fold it while sitting in bed). Anyway, today, after getting a cup of coffee and checking various things online, I put myself back in bed and watched Sleepless in Seattle while knitting on this pink blanket:

So I spent the forenoon lying there with the ear buds in watching a chick flick that Father REFUSES to watch with me while knitting. Not too bad actually 🙂 I got about ten rows done. I am so thoroughly sick of this blanket. (It’s going to be great when done, but the making itself is BORING.) [Update: I finished!! Yay!!]

So, Sleepless in Seattle isn’t reading but I have actually read a lot. I finished An Old-Fashioned Girl last night for the umpteenth time. It’s starting to fall apart. I am running out of things to read.

In other non-knitting/reading related news, we have a tropical storm (Karen) in the Gulf. While we’ll get a few storms and some breeze, it’s not going to head in our direction. Unfortunately, the rescheduled clean-up day for the parish is looking doubtful. (Father hasn’t made a call yet.) Looks like Karen has slowed down significantly so the work day tomorrow will not be affected. Father sent out an email earlier this afternoon to remind everyone and confirm that it is still on.

  1. I love An Old Fashioned Girl! I reread it at least once a year. I didn't discover Betsy and Joe until much later, but it's in the same class for me. And…I could go on and on….

Happy days, reading and knitting. Enjoy your rest!

  2. I have never read that book! I'll have to look it up.

The pink blanket looks beautiful, but I completely understand getting bored of it. I feel that way about the scarf I am working on. I am ready for it to be done… and it is still taking forever! 🙂

  3. Oh dear me. So.Much.Seed.Stitch. As an English knitter, that would send me around the bend. I really like the texture it creates, but I don't know that I'd ever do a blanket of it. Good for you for finishing up!

Rest up, and let your body prepare for the major work of birthing.
