I participated in a swap on the Orthocrafter's group on Ravelry and my package came today! It was exciting because not only did I not know what was coming, I didn't even know who was sending it! Everything came beautifully wrapped (making me feel rather guilty because I didn't separately wrap the things I sent...ah … Continue reading Swap Goodies!

Yarn Along…for a little girl. (:
I was so excited yesterday to finally start working on some things for my own baby. I haven't made anything in a good long while and it's great to be using pink again after an 11 year hiatus. The first is a simple knit hat out of some SUPERB bamboo yarn. It's so silky soft … Continue reading Yarn Along…for a little girl. (:
Holy Pentecost
Joyous feastday!! Blessed art Thou O Christ Our God! Thou hast revealed the fishermen as most wise By sending down upon them the Holy Spirit. Through them Thou didst draw the world into Thy net. O Lover of Man, Glory to Thee! Appropriately, yesterday we had a baptism! It was very hot but mercifully there … Continue reading Holy Pentecost
Butterfly Quilt beginning
Well, I went ahead and started another quilt. This one is for Ribby. She chose the fabric and I picked the pattern. There are three different yellows (two are prints) and three different purples (two are prints). There will (eventually) be a double border that incorporates the butterfly fabric. Should be cheery!
BBQ Chicken Quilt
The chicken quilt is finished! I finished the binding early this afternoon and put it in the washer/dryer. Interesting view through the back … Continue reading BBQ Chicken Quilt
Quilting pattern
This is how I decided to quilt it. It's going to be slooow going...
"Cluck, cluck, cluck…"
Pinning and starting to sew the quilt today. The photo below has exactly one pin in it. I am sitting here catching my breath before crawling around some more to do the rest of the pinning. I keep getting out of breath! 18 weeks today! We find out the gender next Monday, God willing. (: … Continue reading "Cluck, cluck, cluck…"
Boring
Sorry this blog has gotten so boring lately. I keep wanting to post updates and keep feeling like a broken record: "Tired"...check "Legs swollen"...check "Hot"...check "Doing housework"...check So, the weather is still hot and humid, I'm still tired, still thankful, and the housework never ends. [Note: the children do help around the house but it's … Continue reading Boring
Quilting Again…[updated]
I've started working on the quilt for Pickles. It's going to be a shoo-fly quilt with the center square a chicken. (: I finally decided on the pattern this morning and did a thousand yardage calculations before ironing the fabric. This afternoon I started cutting. With all the red I'm thinking: July Chicken Quilt Spicy … Continue reading Quilting Again…[updated]
Some OLD projects!
I FINALLY finished the jersey scrap rug I started over a year ago. I spent a few hours yesterday cutting up the rest of my colored scraps of jersey and crocheting them on. Then I officially declared it done. I'm saving the rest of the white jersey to use for baby wipes. (I can't believe … Continue reading Some OLD projects!
