Pink crocheted and quilted baby blanket

I don’t even know what to call this blanket. I’ve never put so many things together in one item and it wasn’t all intentional.

The backing is a rosebud print on tiny seersucker. It’s really white but because it’s rather sheer the pink flannel on top of it is showing through.

I crocheted the top from an original pattern, taking inspiration from a vintage filet crochet baby bonnet for the center piece.

I had intended to tie it (like a tied quilt), but it wasn’t going to provide enough support so I quilted it instead.

I used satin blanket binding for the first time. It wasn’t nearly as fussy as I had imagined. I’m generally leery of satin.

Heading in the mail tomorrow for a special baby.
