This cake was Devil’s Food made from scratch. Remember I wasn’t going to use mix any more? She wanted chocolate cake with whipped cream instead of frosting. Um, ok…
I had to decorate it somehow and it’s hard to pipe icing onto whipped cream. I tinted coconut green and added some Cadbury mini eggs (mmmmmm……).
So beautiful Matushka Anna. My daughter loves Chocolate Devils food cake. I have made it from the Betty Crocker's mix but it is way too expensive to purchase here. So if you could share the recipe it would be so wonderful!!!! Once again Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter!!!! ❤

Devils Food Cake
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add milk, shortening, and vanilla. Beat on low speed until combined. Beat on high speed for two minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round pans. Bake in a 350 oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.
