In general I would say that TS Lee was a disappointment. We didn’t hear thunder once! Just rain, ranging from heavy mist to driving, and some breezes. And heck, the thing passed practically over our house. Oh well, the season is young.
Not too much else going on. Ribby has the next two days off from school (Tuesday is a teachers’ planning day) but we’re soldiering on with homeschool. It’s not like it’s going to take them all day and frankly they have too much time on their hands what with not going outside. If the boys start fighting one more time they’re going out, rain or no rain. Shoo!
Thank you to the few people who responded to my inquiries on Saturday. Repeating it here for those who don’t have access to computers on the weekends, I’m coming up on post 1,000 (only a few more now) and wanted to do something out of the ordinary. Contest? Giveaway? Any ideas? I asked a few questions around post 500 and asked them again. In short, what do you like/dislike about what gets posted here? I’m not planning on making this a democracy and having votes on what to post but it is interesting to know when I’ll put people to sleep, make them laugh or make them find me on Google maps and come in the middle of the night with torches and pitchforks.

You post such a lovely variety of interesting items – family doings, children's insights (especially from Pickles), your wonderful story (and in serialized form – that was a pleasure to look forward to every new day), the completely random or unexpected — and funny, items about the faith…and it's all wonderful. To say there's a “favorite” category is impossible.
So from this humble reader, please just keep doing what you have been doing.
re: the landmark post. What if you did a list or two, with links to the specific posts in question, so like top post (either by number of views or comments), your favorite posts and why they were your favorites, or a then-now comparison?
Looking forward to whatever #1000 is!

I agree with (another)Elizabeth, enjoy the variety and the humor. It's nice to know a little of what's going on closer to church.
In the meantime, I'm just grateful Lee didn't bring that rain all at once. Have had a rather scary morning with heavy blowing rain and rising water all around my house. Another hour or two of it would've meant real trouble. Subsiding now, thank heavens.

Mat. Anna,
Your 1000th post! That's wonderful! I don't think I could pick a favourite category, but I do really enjoy reading little details from your day to day life – so maybe that would qualify. 🙂 I'm very thankful I found your little corner here and had the opportunity to “meet” you. May your next thousand posts be blessed ones!! 🙂
much love and many prayers,
~Nonna 🙂

I have to agree with the others here…I appreciate the variety of your posts, from humor to reflections to stories to prayer requests. I also like that you post frequently, which makes your blog a fun daily stop. It's also so nice to find a blog written from the perspective of a Orthodox matushka with many children, as that kind of blog isn't something one just stumbles upon right and left. I haven't any idea what to suggest in celebration of a thousandth post, though!
